EXPLO Summer Program
Art & Maker Coordinator
As the Art and Maker Coordinator for the Exploration School´s Summer Program (EXPLO) for students in 4-7th grade I ran the program's Art Center and Makerspace. This involved maintaining both spaces and ensuring they were safe, organized, and welcoming to students of all background and abilities. I planned and staffed daily art activities and events for groups of between 10-100 students at a time. I also managed program budgets, wrote activity lesson plans, oversaw art activity instructors and supported them in leading the activities, and trained Maker course instructors and assistants.
Additionally, I was the lead Makerspace teacher and taught a Makerspace course and elective covering the fundamentals of design through student generated projects. These projects ranged from sewing, 3D printing, wood and clay sculptures, soldered LED circuits, and more! Lastly, I organized a biweekly Maker Faire for students in all Maker courses and electives to share their work with the community.
